Satellite Antenna's

We recently completed the installation of the 2 meter and 70cm RHCP (right hand circular polarized) antennas on the azimuth and elevation rotator on the tower outisde of the Chiefs club.  Adam KG4PES has had this pet project in mind for years.  However, it was the brought together with the work of just about everyone in the club.  Mick W8MLS helped us get a nice boom operated lifting crane to really make this process go smoothly. Rich K3VAT and Gary K4GIF lead the antenna assembly crews.  While Adam KG4PES and Mike KG4Y spent time on the boom getting the rotator, coax, 2 meter preamp and antennas installed.   While all seemingly went well we did need a bit of manual tower climbing from Mike to correct an error in the dicrectional alignment of the antenna's (read Adam messed up :) )

We are well on the way to having a nice ground station for satellite work, VHF/UHF terrestrial, and possibly just enough to do some EME (earth moon earth) on JT65 with our 2 meter beam and preamp.

Here is a video of Mike KG4Y installing the 2 meter antenna on the boom:
